Communication and Events Specialist

Job Overview

Under the direction of the Marketing Director, the Communication and Events Specialist will assist in the development and deployment of marketing and communications content for internal and external audiences and coordination of various public events and marketing programs.

Duties & Responsibilities

This position requires a high level of event management and organization, interpersonal skills and creative productivity for developing traditional and digital marketing/communications content. The goal of the Communications and Events Specialist is to aid in broadening the reach of Eagle Point Solar messaging in an effort to assist a growing sales team, nurture lead development and build brand awareness through:

• Development and preparation of marketing content such as direct mail postcards, mailing lists, social media posts, newspaper and magazine ads, industry blog articles, letters, flyers, posters etc.
• Oversee tradeshow vendor applications, booth placement and coordinate all materials for setup.
• Oversee various public event setup such as ribbon cuttings, Chamber events, community sponsorships, etc.
• Coordinate and organize content submissions for various industry media publications.
• Assist in meeting marketing production media deadlines and contract development.
• Uses a CRM to assist in building email campaigns, improving internal/external communications, updating lead/client records, nurturing leads, and extracting data for various marketing/sales pipeline reports.
• Coordinate and assist in making website updates and content scheduling/posting on various digital and social platforms.
• Vendor management and development of corporate swag and sales materials, gift baskets and sponsorship giveaways.
• Acts as a valued contributor and team player. 
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Event management and experience in tradeshow booth setup, in-person educational seminars, and community events.
• Development of creative marketing content using Adobe Creative Suite applications such as Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat Form Builder and Premier Pro
• General knowledge of marketing and communications strategies, branding, campaign development, media channels and relationship management
• Experienced in basic personal computer operation and Microsoft Windows applications (Excel & Word)
• Excellent communication skills, (verbal and written)
• Excellent organizational & time management skills
• Experience with Salesforce, WordPress or email marketing a plus
• Experience within a progressive technology organization a plus
• Strong proof reading skills
• Additional requirements as needed

Education and Experience

• BA degree in marketing, public relations, communications or digital arts
• Three to Five years of experience in a similar role.

Work hours and Location

• This position is a exempt full-time 40-hour-a-week position located in the office at Eagle Point Solar in Dubuque, IA.
