Job Overview
Job Summary:
A Machine Operator is responsible for setting up and operating the machine to produce precision parts and components while ensuring the standards of workmanship and safety are maintained.
Hours: 3pm - 1:30am, Monday through Thursday (overtime hours as needed)
Responsibilities:
- Check the load for proper material, remove protective materials and empty skids
- Check machine settings for proper specifications and tooling being used
- Set up equipment for scheduled orders
- Adjust equipment as needed for the job to meet customer specifications
- Read and understand blueprints and quality checklists
- Inspect product for compliance with specifications, adjust and repair as necessary
- Check parts with gauges and calipers
- Clean or rework parts as necessary
- Make repairs on equipment, replacing worn or damaged parts and assist department mechanics in making major repairs and overhauls
- Keep count of completed product on each run and records and disposes of spoilage in designated manner
- Posts production, delays, and cause of delays
- Notifies lead/supervisor of any major incidence of recurring equipment malfunction or poor-quality raw material or production
- Cleans and lubricates equipment at the end of run or shift
- Follow all safety protocols including steel toes, ear protection and eye protection
- Additional duties as assigned
Job Qualifications:
- Ability to stand most of the shift
- Dexterity in using hand tools
- Tolerate exposure to noise, heat and fumes
- Precision and control where damage could be considerable
- Great work ethic and attendance
- Ability to lift 50lbs
- High school diploma or GED required
