Job Overview

Green Industrial Supply, Inc. has an opening for an Expeditor in their Service Department. This position is responsible for assisting in the placement, tracking and expediting of orders with vendors and suppliers.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maintain a record of outstanding purchase orders and contact vendors through appropriate means of communication.

• Order acknowledgements and PCNs.
• Review and process various reports (MOQ EDI, orders shipping in 1-2 weeks) and advise of possible PO needs.
• Log acknowledgement ship date discrepancies as needed.
• Monitor sales orders to ensure that they are delivered in the specified amount of time.
• Generate a list of purchase orders that have fallen past due and follow up with suppliers for sufficient tracking, backorder information and/or proof-of deliveries.
• Maintain contact with the shipping companies to prevent delays in shipment.
• Data entry of purchase order confirmations, ship dates and backorders on a daily basis.
• Ensure that the purchase order information matches the shipment.
• Follow up with Green Industrial Supply suppliers on a continual basis to ensure all required documents are submitted and complete.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Regular and reliable attendance is required for this position.

QUALIFICATIONS

• A high school degree or equivalent
• Previous experience in a related area such as materials, scheduling, planning, order fulfillment, purchasing or supply chain management or related field preferred
• Ability to prioritize, organize, multi-task, problem solve and meet deadlines
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally, orally and in writing
