ESSENTIAL POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

 Ensure the quality of the product is up to customer standards, including:

Product weights to be monitored and recorded.

Checking color, odor and texture.

Checking seal integrity and performing burst testing.

Product code, fill temperature, and quality checks.

 Complete tear downs for each seamer head on the running seamer.

 Notify supervisor of any out of specification measurements after recheck is confirmed. Fill out documentation as required.

 Record information on the Quality log sheets & input all data in the Quality control computer at the QC station for further review.

 Participates as a member of the team. Participates in ongoing development, communication and implementation of team concepts, programs and policies; coordinates work to ensure best practices with all team members. Attends appropriate team meetings. As a member of the team, fosters strong cohesiveness regarding all major issues; e.g., direction, annual plan, budget, policy changes, etc. Accepts responsibility to quickly identify any areas that lack cohesiveness, bringing them to the attention of the team leader and works with the team in a supportive manner to resolve issues and actively look for ways, and reinforce actions needed, to achieve synergy possible within the larger organization.

 Simmons operating systems principles and objectives: Is familiar with Simmons’ established operating systems (e.g. quality, security, office environment, company policies); understands the responsibility to maintain familiarity with the systems and this position’s role in support of these systems – including a consideration of the impact of individual actions on the systems and the responsibility to communicate concerns and improvement ideas.

 Performs other duties as necessary in support of business objectives: This position description is intended to guide the activities of the QC Line Inspector and is not intended to limit the thinking and creativity of the person to the work of this function nor is it intended that this describe all the work that may be required of the person in this position.

 Physical Activities: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand and walk.

 Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Steel toed shoes, Ear Plugs, Hair Net.

 Travel: N/A.

 Technical Experience: Experienced within a manufacturing/process environment with knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices.

Industry Experience: Background in manufacturing.

 Minimum Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.

 Preferred Education: Some college and/or Tech School.

ESSENTIAL POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Reviews production schedule. Verifies production plan number. Notes any changes for trays, tray size or tray printing. Verifies that machine, trays and printer are set up correctly per production schedule.

Ensures proper shrink wrap materials are supplied in sufficient quantities and staged. Loads according to procedure.

Saves tray pallet identification tags. Records tag information and weight.

Reworks damaged trays as required.

Checks machine operation for correct feeding, gluing, coding, application of shrink film, film usage and other items as directed.

Checks products for labeling defects, correct UPC code, product code and date, correct tray printing for every label change, and any other defects as directed.

Physical Activities: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand on feet for entire shift.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Hearing protection, steel toe shoes.

Industry Experience: Preference for pet or food processing organization.

Minimum Education: High School Diploma or equivalent. Must have basic math skills. Must be able to read, write and speak English.

ESSENTIAL POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Produce cooked meat chunks of blended meats that are the proper size with a firm texture by the removing of air, creating an emulsion, cooking a thin sheet, and cutting to the desired size a batch of blended meats.
• Accomplish room start-up procedures.
• Fill product line to extruder. Fill Extruder until even product flow.
• Adjust steam tunnel to target product temperature. (CP)Adjust cutter to produce target product length. (CP)
• Record all measurement on batch sheet.

 Fills in for the employees during breaks and any type of absence while maintaining the continuing quality of the plant operations.

 Fully operate all necessary equipment in assigned area.

 Record downtime, can loss, lot numbers, record temperature, and any other report document.

 Ensure all areas are cleaned to standard.

 Perform weekly sanitation.

 Industry Experience: May be required to obtain and maintain company issued forklift license

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION The Manifestor keeps track of all incoming and outgoing products and assists in all related functions in record keeping requirements and inventory.

ESSENTIAL POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Scans pallets to accurately capture proper case count, weights and dates.

Documents numbers and codes per pallet. Creates label for pallet.

Ensures all paperwork is completed in accordance with established time frames or record keeping requirements.

Verifies pallets and labels are correct and sent to the right destination.

Participates as a member of the Team. Participates in ongoing development, communication and implementation of team concepts, programs and policies; coordinates work to ensure B.E.S.T practices with all team members. Attends appropriate team meetings. As a member of the Team, fosters strong cohesiveness regarding all major issues; e.g., direction, annual plan, budget, policy changes, etc. Accepts responsibility to quickly identify any areas that lack cohesiveness, bringing them to the attention of the team leader and working with the team in a supportive manner to resolve issues and actively look for ways, and reinforces actions needed, to achieve synergy possible within the larger organization.

Physical Activities: Be able to efficiently work in a plant environment. Regularly required to stand, reach and move about the facility. Light to moderate physical effort required. Walking; bending – twisting at the neck – waist; light lifting/carrying. Frequent sitting; standing; simple grasping; fine manipulation/feeling; reaching at shoulder level; repetitive motion of the shoulders and arms. Constant repetitive motion of the hands; talking; use of vision and hearing. Will work on feet for entire shift in a cold, hot, noisy environment. Stooping, bending, climbing, twisting, stretching, pushing, pulling and lifting up to 50 pounds

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Std waterproof gloves, hearing protection, chemical resistant apron – gloves, face shield, reinforced toed footwear

Travel: NA

Technical Experience: Preferred experience in shipping and receiving, working with large moving equipment.

Industry Experience: Preference for poultry or food processing organization.

Minimum Education: Have the ability to read and understand training material and policies. Able to read, write and communicate in English. Basic math skills. Shipping Manifestors may be required to obtain and maintain a palletjack and forklift license.

Preferred Education: High school diploma/GED; or one to three months related experience or training. Good command of the English language, both written and spoken.
