What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Perform MIG and TIG welding on steel, aluminum, and stainless steel
  • Read and interpret blueprints to ensure precision and quality
  • Troubleshoot and resolve fabrication challenges independently
  • Safely operate a variety of hand and shop tools
  • Collaborate with a team to meet production schedules and quality standards
  • Handle physical tasks, including lifting up to 75 lbs
  • Maintain required certifications (forklift, confined space, etc.)

Director of Intercollegiate Athletics

University of Wisconsin-Platteville is seeking a Director of Intercollegiate Athletics to oversee a 16-sport department that competes in the best National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III conference in the country, and the highly-competitive Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC).

Reporting directly to the Chancellor, the Director of Intercollegiate Athletics leads and continuously develops a representative athletic program guided by the University’s strategic plan, mission and vision statement. Resource development is critical to the success of the mission of the university and its Athletic program.  The Athletic Director must foster a collaborative partnership with offices across campus, including executive leadership, Admissions, Marketing, UW-Platteville Foundation, Facilities, Human Resources, Budget, Finance and Compliance.

Compensation for this position is $120,000 – 140,000, commensurate with experience.  This is a full time, benefit and paid leave eligible position.

Industrial Finish Technician $22-$25/hour based on experience.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Sandblasting in a variety of tank sizes
  • Steel shot or glass bead blasting as required per ASTM and paint specs.
  • Must wear a full head respirator when blasting and proper PPE.
  • Grinding and sanding welds to meet various welding codes.
  • Hydrostatically test vessels and tanks as required.
  • Package and load product for shipment.
  • Install internal and external components.
  • Perform other tasks as necessary.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic crane operation and material handling (material handling).
  • Must have excellent communication skills and the willingness to work with others in a team environment.
  • Exceptional listening skills and able to take direction well from others.
  • Read tape measure to 1/16″.
  • Basic hand tool knowledge.
  • Climb ladders, wear a respirator and fit through manways as required.
  • Willingness to fill in wherever necessary which includes occasionally working different shifts.

Responsibilities include:

  • Identify labor, material, and time requirements by studying blueprints, specifications, and other related documents

  • Ensure code compliance of project estimates, if applicable
  • Confer with engineers on change orders to develop adjusted cost estimates
  • Develop and maintain strong organizational, leadership, analytic, and interpersonal skills

As a key member of their logistics and delivery team, you will be responsible for transporting materials safely and efficiently to various locations in Northeast Iowa and ensuring timely deliveries. This is a direct hire opportunity. Meaning, the right fit candidate would go directly onto the hiring company’s payroll and be eligible for benefits. 

Responsibilities:
  • Safely operate a CDL A or B commercial vehicle to transport materials to designated locations.
