Security Guard

Summary:

Safeguards A.Y. McDonald Mfg. Co. Property and Facilities against fire, theft, vandalism, and illegal entry by performing the following duties.

 

Main Responsibilities:

  • Patrols property and facilities of A.Y. McDonald Mfg. Co.
  • Lock doors, unlock doors, turn lights on and turn lights off.
  • Examines doors, windows, and gates to determine that they are secure.
  • Watches for and reports irregularities such as fire hazards, leaking water pipes, and security doors left unlocked.
  • Observes departing personnel to guard against theft of company property.
  • Sounds alarm or notifies the police or fire department by telephone in case of fire, presence of unauthorized persons, or emergency situations.
  • Permits authorized persons to enter facility.
  • Records data such as property damage, unusual occurrences, and malfunctioning of machinery or equipment, for use of supervisory and maintenance staff.
  • Properly inform guard or HR personnel on following shift of all notable issues encountered during security watch, in order to allow for a smooth transition between security shifts.
  • Foundry readings /logs – Fire extinguishers, loop reading, Ajax reading, etc.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Senior Maintenance Supervisor.

 

Qualifications:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Work Schedule: 

  • 10-20 hours per week
  • Sundays 8am-8pm
  • Holidays
