The Bachelor of Science programs in the department align with the mission statement of the university by delivering a hands-on approach, where students learn by doing. The hands-on approach is evident in the curriculum, with the majority of coursework having a laboratory experience associated with them.

The department also offers courses to remote students through the UW-Platteville Engineering Partnerships (PEP) program. Most of the courses in ECE department are provided through distance modality for students enrolled in the PEP program.
