Parts Specialist (Second Shift)

Thompson Truck & Trailer is looking for a dedicated Parts Specialist to join our team. Thompson Truck & Trailer is a full-service commercial truck dealership serving customers in six locations in Eastern Iowa and Western Illinois. Our current need is a second shift, Mon-Fri 12:00pm-8:30pm

Primary Responsibilities

• Answer customer calls and walk-ins by researching parts availability and pricing.
• Utilize parts management software to research parts availability on-site or for order and communicate timeline and price to the customer.
• Determine sales opportunities during customer interactions to increase revenue.
• Inform customers of companion parts requirements to ensure the customer is aware of the full product line.
• Follow established processes to research out-of-stock parts from internal dealerships and outside sources. Obtain proper authorization from the customer before orders are placed.
• Back-up and assist other parts team members as needed.

Requirements

• Industry knowledge and parts experience will get you up-to-speed faster, but we can teach anyone that wants to learn. We're more focused on your ability to think-on-your-feet, creatively solve problems, and understand our customers' challenges.
• Physical demands of this job are classified as Light: exerting 16 to 50 pounds of force or lifting occasionally, and/or 10 to 15 pounds of force or lifting frequently to move objects.
• High School Diploma or GED
