Job Overview
The Payroll/Benefits Supervisor is responsible for supervision of the payroll and benefit administration processes and procedures and maintaining the various systems and strategies to support payroll and benefits. Will also partner with the Human Resource team to ensure employees are provided superior service, along with implementing special projects as necessary.
You’ll Be:
- Supervising the payroll process, open enrollment, life events, payroll tax filings, reporting, and benefit processes and procedures.
- Managing systems and vendors that support payroll and benefit areas.
- Creating and/or executing on strategic priorities and department operational plans.
- Supervising and providing coaching and development for employees to ensure employees are engaged and effectively meeting expectations of their jobs.
- Exhibiting overall Dupaco Leadership skills such as initiative, change management, and project management.
- Budgeting, monitoring and approving operational expenses including training, workforce, and other department expenses.
- Maintaining knowledge of rules and regulations to provide initial and ongoing training of procedures for the payroll benefit team.
- Managing reports for outside agencies along with coordination of filing deadlines for reports assigned.
- Supervising the reconciliation & payment of payroll/benefit related vendors and general ledgers.
- Creating and maintaining collaborative internal and external relationships through internal peer groups / focus groups as well as various industry and/or community organizations both regionally and nationally.
- Monitoring current trends and insights brought forward by various surveys or other voice of the employee and member methods.
- Serving as the backup for review and processing of bi-weekly payroll as needed.
- Working with examiners and external auditors to answer questions and provide information during examinations.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
You'll Need:
- Bachelor’s degree or related experience.
- 5+ years of payroll or benefits related job experience.
- Previous supervisory and leadership skills, strongly preferred.
- Excellent communication skills with strong written and verbal analytical skills, for both internal and external credit union communications and relations.
- Resourceful and well organized with the ability to prioritize work assignments efficiently. Ability to accurately handle large volumes of details and multi-task effectively.
- Demonstrate complex problem solving and strong decision-making skills
