Job Overview

ESSENTIAL POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Help develop training program materials - will use a pc and ipad daily
  • Speak in public and group settings
  • Conduct training reviews - group and individual
  • Create and review training content such as SOP's, SWI's, video, photos, etc.
  • Follow-up and reinforce provided training materials that are provided in orientation
  • Understanding and knowledge of the facility and processes
  • Adhere to workplace food and safety policies as required by federal, state and local laws
  • Use and assist team members in the use of the Redzone Learn module
  • Maintain training records and materials
  • Partner and communicate with all levels of Leadership as directed by manager
  • Communicate effectively with all team members to aid in the team member's training progression
  • Organized, task oriented and self motivated
  • Time management skills
  • Experience with Microsoft suite, Google Office systems, computer and Ipad skills

Participates as a member of the Team. Participates in ongoing development, communication and implementation of team concepts, programs and policies; coordinates work to ensure B.E.S.T (Better Easier Safer Today) practices with all team members. Attends appropriate team meetings. As a member of the Team, fosters strong cohesiveness regarding all major issues; e.g., direction, annual plan, budget, policy changes, etc. Accepts responsibility to quickly identify any areas that lack cohesiveness, bringing them to the attention of the team leader and working with the team in a supportive manner to resolve issues and actively look for ways, and reinforces actions needed, to achieve synergy possible within the larger organization. 

Simmons Operating systems principles and objectives: Is familiar with Simmons' established operating systems (e.g. quality, security, office environment, company policies); understands the responsibility to maintain familiarity with the systems and this position's role in support of these systems - including a consideration of the impact of individual actions on the systems and the responsibility to communicate concerns and improvement ideas.

Performs other duties as necessary in support of business objectives: This position description is intended to guide the activities of the employee and is not intended to limit the thinking and creativity of the person to the work of this function nor is it intended that this describes all the work that may be required of the person in this position.

Physical Activities: Must be able to work in a busy, noisy, dusty or wet environment with temperature extremes; work on feet for an entire shift and be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Must be able to spend most of shift in production areas.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Safety glasses, steel toed shoes, earplugs, hair net, smocks, aprons, and all other personal protection equipment as required by facility

Travel: May travel between facilities occasionally

Technical Experience: N/A

Industry Experience: 1-year preference for poultry, pet food, protein or food processing organization.

Preferred Education: Bilingual in English and Spanish
