Unified Therapy Services is seeking a PRN Physical Therapy Assistant for our clinics in Dubuque, IA.

Unified Therapy Services has two pediatric-focused outpatient clinics in Dubuque, Iowa offering physical, occupational, and speech language therapy services. PHYSICAL THERAPY ASSISTANT JOB DESCRIPTION:

Follows through with treatment plans written by the Physical Therapist for treatment of patients referred by a physician for physical rehabilitation services.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

Follows through with treatment plan established by Physical Therapist.

Is responsible for tracking and following state regulations and guidelines for therapist contact with patients and supervision requirements with the Physical Therapist as directed in the policies and procedures.

Observes patients during treatments and compiles data on patients’ responses to treatments and progress, and reports orally or in writing to Physical Therapist.

Understands and complies with universal precautions, safety and risk policies and procedures.

Assists with department QA reports and records.

Performs necessary documentation including progress notes and logs in a timely manner.

Makes conscious effort to educate the patients and parents/caregivers as appropriate and will adapt education methods to improve understanding and compliance.

Monitors treatments administered by Rehab Assistants.

Gives orientation to new Physical Therapist Assistants; directs and instructs Rehab Assistants.

Maintains positive relationships with the health care team patient and family.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Associate’s degree (A.A.) of Physical Therapist Assistant

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

Physical Therapist Assistant license

Valid Driver’s license

Unified Therapy Services is an outpatient clinic with three locations in Dubuque, Iowa and one in Lancaster, WI. We offer physical, occupational, behavioral and speech-language therapy services to adult and pediatric patients in the tristate area.

All clinic locations have private treatment rooms as well as open gym areas to accommodate all appointment types. Our pediatric clinics have indoor playgrounds as well as an abundance of swings, games and toys to keep therapy engaging and fun!
