McGraw Hill, the leading provider of digital and print educational solutions, is looking for a Product Design Supervisor within our K-12 division who will be responsible for developing and implementing the design vision, strategy, and workflow to build world-class educational products for the Literacy portfolio. The Product Design Supervisor is responsible for managing a team of product designers and collaborating across cross-functional teams to create and deliver effective and engaging, print and digital, teaching and learning experiences.

 

This is a remote position open to applicants authorized to work for any employer within the United States.

What you will be doing:

  • Manage a team of Product Designers to deliver engaging, user-friendly digital and print designs that are scalable, on time, and within budget, while ensuring alignment with portfolio and team plans and effectively prioritizing workloads.
  • Understand the product vision and strategy, contextualize team goals within the broader objectives, and translate product goals into actionable steps to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams and vendors to identify problems, constraints, and opportunities, generating innovative solutions while maintaining adherence to project guidelines and expectations.
  • Expertly articulate and justify design choices to stakeholders, facilitating productive discussions and fostering a culture of trust, respect, empathy, and psychological safety within and across teams.
  • Proactively identify risks, develop contingency plans, track budgets, mitigate cost-related risks, and flag variances early to ensure financial and operational stability.
  • Guide the development of vendor and project partner guidelines, facilitate meetings, and ensure problem-solving aligns with organizational policies, procedures, and business objectives.

 

We are looking for someone with:

  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, visual communication, digital design, human centered design, or related field or relevant expertise required.
  • 5 years of work experience with web and/or print visual design.
  • Expert knowledge of Figma and Adobe Creative Cloud Suites.
  • A portfolio demonstrating strong visual sensibilities, compelling ideas, and a thorough understanding of design process.
  • Understanding of a latest web software and technologies, and a strong familiarity with the latest WCAG Standards.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills as well as proficiency in Microsoft Office, Smartsheet, Lucidchart, JIRA.

The pay range for this position is between $75,000-$85,000 annually, however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
