McGraw Hill is seeking a K-12 Product Designer to help us create next generation digital learning experiences for our K-12 Science program. We’re looking for someone who can develop innovative solutions, brainstorm and translate high-level visions into compellingprint and digital experiences. This is currently a remote position,and the role will be filled as a 12-month contract.

What you will be doing:

•Developing concepts into visually engaging designs that appropriately align with and extend product strategy and goals.

•Creating digital prototypes and mockups for user testing and product development.

•Developing the design rationale and explaining visual choices to cross-functional teams and key stakeholders.

•Ensuring delivery and multiple production hand-offs within a strategic initiative.

•Advocating for the user throughout product development.

We’re looking for someone with...

•A BA or formal design degree.

•2+yearsof experience with web + print design, and technology development with specific expertise with web-based applications.

•Experience creating wireframes as well as visual design comps.

•Strong working knowledge of the full Adobe Creative Suite: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign.

•Fluency with web standards and technologies, including CSS, HTML.

•Knowledge of usability and coding practices for accessibility.

•A portfolio demonstrating strong visual sensibilities, compelling ideas, and a thorough understanding of design process.

•Experience with Interaction Design, new media design, HCI, or related field is desired.
