Onsite/Remote:Onsite Position
This position is eligible for a flexible work schedule arrangement at the present time. The arrangement may be delayed for training or other job acclimation purposes and remains subject to change.
Your Responsibilities
As a Product Engineer - Four-Wheel Drive Loader (4WDL) Drivetrain for John Deere Dubuque Works located in Dubuque, IA, you will….
- Develop Four Wheel Drive Loader Drivetrain (4WDL) components including transmissions, axles, drivelines, park brakes, wheels/tires, etc. for new product development.
- Collaborate with drivetrain suppliers to ensure machine performance, component life goals, cost targets, and schedules are met.
- Provide leadership and work coordination for contract and ETEC (Enterprise Technology Engineering Center) resources.
Additionally, you will
- Diagnose drivetrain issues during new product development and support PV&V (Product Verification and Validation) test activities. Build support will be required at our Davenport, IA factory.
- Support future 4WDL (Four Wheel Drive Loader) portfolio needs by participating in projects following the Integrated Systems Development Process (ISDP).
- Contribute to product design guidelines, design books, DTW’s, and engineering analysis procedures for 4WDL's.

What Skills You Need
- Engineering experience obtained through projects, internships, or practical experience.
- Experience in roles that required a basic knowledge of drivetrain components.
- Experience with 3D modeling software.
- Demonstrated effective communication skills (written & verbal).
- Demonstrated ability to work in self-directed manner.
- Ability to collaborate with individuals of diverse cultures, interpersonal styles, capabilities, and backgrounds.
What Makes You Stand Out
- Familiarity with Construction, Forestry, or Ag off-road equipment.
- Experience with business processes (i.e., JDLink, PDMLink, SAP, etc.)
- Experience with telematics data and analytics software such as MATLAB, Diadem, or nCode.
- Cross-functional experience related to Product Verification and Validation, (PV&V), performance evaluation, software, and/or manufacturing teams.
Education
Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related engineering degree.
