Product Engineer

Job Overview

Specialized Recruiting Group is seeking a Product Engineer for a confidential medical manufacturing company. This role is responsible for the design, development, testing, and validation of new products while ensuring compliance with customer requirements and applicable regulatory standards.

The Product Engineer will support new product development from concept through production launch, working closely with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain teams. This position plays a key role in product design, design verification and validation, supplier collaboration, cost improvement initiatives, and ongoing product support.

Responsibilities

• Lead new product development activities from concept through production transfer
• Develop product designs, specifications, drawings, and technical documentation
• Coordinate design verification and validation testing, including external laboratory testing
• Collaborate with customers, suppliers, and internal teams throughout the product development process
• Support product risk assessments, design reviews, and regulatory compliance activities
• Develop and maintain Bills of Materials, work instructions, and engineering documentation
• Design and develop tooling, fixtures, and manufacturing support equipment
• Investigate product, material, and supplier issues and implement corrective actions
• Perform product cost analysis and identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement
• Manage engineering change documentation and support continuous improvement efforts

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field
• 1–3 years of product development or engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
• Experience with SolidWorks or similar CAD software
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
• Knowledge of product validation, design controls, and engineering documentation
• Experience with FDA-regulated or ISO-certified manufacturing environments preferred
• Strong problem-solving, project management, and communication skills
