Your Responsibilities
As a Product Engineer - Control Systems and Automation for John Deere Duque Works located in Dubuque, IA, you will...
- Assist system engineers and executes plans related to integration of perception technologies on vehicles.
- Advanced vision systems Integration for Integrated Systems Development Process (ISDP)and Product Delivery Process (PDP) projects.
- Define and document interface requirements for PDP and future technologies.
- Execute Continuous Improvement projects for Object Intelligence (OI)
- Perception Hardware: Limited work on OI power rail/harness design
- Produces and/or evaluates possible design solutions to improve cost, quality and performance based on specialized knowledge of engineering applications. This may include possible involvement of other functional engineers, supply management and/or supplier personnel.
- Compiles and furnishes necessary information (engineering decisions and reports of pertinent design analyses data) to document the design solution required for building of prototypes and adoption of the design with possible involvement of other functional engineers, supply management and/or supplier personnel.
- Applies existing applications to routine problems.
- Analyzes assignments and determines engineering specifications which must be fulfilled for routine problems or projects.
- Learns and applies company engineering policies and practices; learns company products.
- Executes test or analysis plan for product verification and validation.

What Skills You Need
- Skill in using computer aided design and/or engineering tools. Has a good understanding of the principles and can independently use the knowledge.
- Skill in using company information systems and processes. Has a general understanding of the principles and uses the knowledge with assistance.
- Understanding of engineering principles as they relate to the company product Has a good understanding of the principles and can independently use the knowledge.
- Knowledge of product development processes
- Interested in system engineering
What Makes You Stand Out
- 1 or more years of Engineering experience
- 1 or more years of technical experience relating to design/diagnostics of mechanical/electrical/hydraulic systems.
- Product engineering experience.
- 1 or more years of experience with engineering tools, systems and databases.
- Experience with Computer Aided Design (CAD) systems.
- Fundamental understanding of machine forms relevant to the specific job assignment and Company division/unit. Knowledge/familiarity with machines manufactured by competitors. Has a general understanding of the principles and uses the knowledge with assistance.
- Knowledge of the Enterprise Product Delivery Process (EPDP), Enterprise Technology Development process (ETDP) and/or Enterprise Customer Acquisition Process (ECAP). Has a general understanding of the principles and uses the knowledge with assistance.
Education
Ideally, you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering/Technology, Science or Agricultural Science discipline
