Production Internship is a paid opportunity that affords students a remarkable experience to participate in fast-paced real-world projects designed to further develop strategic project management, analytical problem solving, and managerial leadership skills. Mentors will be designated to guide student collaborations and project work in each area. Students will be exposed to areas such as engineering, and operations.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

ΓÇó Demonstrated acquired knowledge of bakery operations/processing/formulations and bakery equipment

ΓÇó Demonstrated knowledge of safety related issues including compliance with State, Federal and Local regulations

ΓÇó Analyze data using all systems including and work with other departments to establish goals and make the right

ΓÇó Assist all teams throughout the bakery to achieve their goals

ΓÇó Identify process improvement needs and assisted in establishing sustainable continuous improvement

ΓÇó Multi-task and problem solve in a challenging environment

ΓÇó Connect with people across hierarchies and develop strong relationships

ΓÇó The ability to help the transformation team throughout the bakery to achieve and sustain the desired goals

Job Requirements

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

ΓÇó Currently pursuing a bachelor' degree in Food/Baking Science, Industrial, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering

ΓÇó Must be willing to work any shift and overtime if needed

ΓÇó Ability to connect with people across hierarchies and develop strong relationships

ΓÇó Must possess strong leadership, computer, and communication (verbal and written) skills

ΓÇó Ability to analyze data, multitask and problem solve in a fast paced challenging environment

ΓÇó The ability to help the transformation team throughout the bakery to achieve and sustain the desired goals

ΓÇó Ability to work a flexible schedule including off shifts and weekends

ΓÇó Capable of interacting with all organization levels; ranging from entry level Associates to Bimbo' Senior Leadership Management team with an ability to thrive in a team environment

Our History
Not everyone is familiar with the Bimbo Bakeries USA name. However, everyone in the U.S. has likely enjoyed at least one of our many products at one time or another. Some of our iconic brands and fresh products can trace their histories back to the late 1800s or early 1900s, when our traditions of freshness and value began. Bimbo Bakeries USA' story begins in 1994, when Grupo Bimbo — Mexico' largest baking company with operations in 33 countries — purchased La Hacienda, a California-based tortilla company. Bimbo Bakeries USA then entered the U.S. bread market in 1997 with the acquisition of Pacific Pride Bakeries of San Diego.

The company grew again in 1998 with the purchase of Mrs Baird' Bakeries in Texas, which at the time was the largest family-owned bakery in the U.S. The combined operations were renamed Bimbo Bakeries USA (BBU).

In 2002, BBU acquired the Western U.S. baking business of George Weston Ltd., adding such iconic premium brands as Oroweat®, Entenmann'®, Thomas’® and Boboli®. In 2009, Grupo Bimbo purchased the remaining U.S. fresh baked goods business of George Weston Ltd., adding brands such as Arnold®, Brownberry®, Freihofer'® and Stroehmann®.

In 2011, BBU completed its largest acquisition to date: Sara Lee' North American Fresh Bakery business. Adding Sara Lee' bread business doubled BBU in size, enabling us to better deliver on our mission, vision and values.

Today, BBU operates more than 60 bakeries, employs more than 20,000 associates and distributes products through 11,000 sales routes throughout the United States.
