Production Group Lead 2nd Shift

Job Overview

Duties: 

The successful candidate will be under the direct supervision and guidance of the Manufacturing Supervisors and will direct the activities, material, and products through the parts fabrication and assembly, pass door fabrication, and panel assembly line on the 2nd shift. 

The successful candidate must: 

• Have the skills of an operator in key areas of production including, but not limited to, parts assembly, machine operations including setups, and steel panel building/laminating.  

• Be self-motivated and have good decision-making skills. 

• Be able to handle confrontation and exercise sound judgment for the safe and efficient operation of the shift. 

• Must demonstrate the ability to read blueprints, production documents, and processing. 

• Have the ability to work cooperatively with Management, Supervisors, Quality Control and all other co-workers.  This includes the training of new employees, keeping the supervisor informed, and general cooperation. 

• Possess the ability to plan for daily production including the placement of personnel. 

• Interact with the maintenance department to keep equipment running and report any problems in an effort to avoid having equipment down and/or production inefficiency. 

• Maintain established quality standards.  Promote and motivate Modernfold employees towards conformance to customer requirements. 

• Prepare and maintain shift documents including, but not limited to perpetual inventory forms, scrap reports, and rework reports. 

• Maintain the safe operation of all equipment, and promote safe working environments. 

• Take the initiative to move people to wherever the work is. 

• Maintain appropriate inventory levels using the Kanban system. 

• Demonstrate the willingness to personally fill in positions when needed. 

• Coordinate and/or complete any reworking task as needed. 

• Demonstrate the ability to prioritize order of parts completion and production line readiness using the production scheduler.
