Summary

The individual in this position reports to the Distribution Manager and is responsible for producing, fabricating, and/or assembling products. They are also responsible for maintaining and setting up an environment within which products may be produced.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Set up all tools, benches, drill presses, jigs, fixtures, table saw, poly-max saw and materials needed to assemble and/or fabricate the assigned job.
  • Review job traveler for instructions and/or special requirements.
  • Measure, cut, and/or move materials into position for fabrication or assembly according to design drawings and job traveler.
  • Fabricate and/or assemble product.
  • Inspect all work done for overall quality and identify any errors.
  • Correct any errors or rework if necessary.
  • Prepare finished product for next assembly or for transfer to another location as indicated by the job traveler.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Ability to coordinate the work of others
  • Ability to accurately read blue prints, schematics, and instructions
  • Ability to use tools safely and effectively
  • Ability to handle production raw materials and subassemblies safely
  • Knowledge of corporate production methods and safety procedures
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
  • Skilled in sing tools and equipment
  • Ability to maintain work orders
  • Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions
  • Skilled in problem solving

Education and/or Experience  

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Three years of warehousing experience is preferred
  • Forklift Certification
  • Must have communication skills appropriate for the job
  • Ability to follow instructions
  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision

Language Skills                                                

Ability to read and interpret documents such as blue prints, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  

Mathematical Skills                                                     

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  

Reasoning Ability                                             

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to continuously stand, walk, use hands, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is frequently required to communicate and listen to co-workers and is occasionally required to sit. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. In addition to the lifting the job requires various carrying, pushing/pulling, kneeling, crawling and squatting.

Additional Training

Continuous training in warehouse and safety procedures, and certification in the operation of heavy equipment as needed.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts variously, in hot, humid, dry, dusty, and cold conditions inside the building. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. ,
