Job Overview
We are seeking a candidate for a Program Manager with a local non-profit. This is an excellent opportunity to make a difference in the community.
Position Overview:
The Program Manager provides a key role to ensure effective management of projects and programs. The Program Manager will be responsible for overseeing the implementation of programs to include evaluating next steps and reporting back gaps and successes of these programs in a timely matter. Responsibilities include quarterly review and evaluation of various programs, grant-funded projects and initiatives to ensure deadlines are being met including grant reporting. The Program Manager works closely with stakeholders, team members, and partners to ensure the successful execution of projects that align with the mission and goals.
- Program Planning and Development:
- Collaborate with the team to design and develop program strategies that advance the organization's mission.
- Manage programs and activities in accordance with funding and grant requirements with a focus on those with disabilities and their social connections especially veterans and those with spinal cord injuries including families.
- Create detailed program plans within the scope of assigned projects with already established objectives, timelines, budgets, and resource requirements.
- Identify opportunities for program expansion, enhancement, or adaptation based on evolving needs and trends.
- Project Implementation:
- Lead the execution of programs, ensuring all activities are carried out in accordance with established plans and objectives. Your hands may get dirty!
- Coordinate and delegate tasks to program staff and volunteers, providing clear guidance and support. You may be called upon to fill in should a need arises.
- Monitor program progress, identify challenges, and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Manage programs and grant timelines.
- Stakeholder Engagement:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with the Team, program partners, and other stakeholders.
- Collaborate with external partners to leverage resources, expertise, and support for program initiatives.
- Participate in regular meetings with the executive team to discuss program progress and strategic alignment
- Budget Management:
- Work with executive leadership team to review program and grant budgets and ensure responsible allocation of funds.
- Monitor program expenses and revenues, track variances, and adjust as necessary.
- Data Collection and Evaluation:
- Produce accurate and timely reporting of funding requirements from grants, sponsors, and donors throughout its life cycle.
- Produce accurate and timely reporting of program status.
- Design data collection methods to assess program impact and outcomes.
- Analyze program data, generate reports, and make data-driven recommendations for program improvement.
- Communication and Community Engagement:
- Coordinate with the Community Engagement Coordinator to develop and implement communication strategies to promote programs and engage target audiences.
- Prepare program-related content for newsletters, websites, social media, and other platforms.
- Team Leadership and Development:
- Collaborates with the Board of Directors and Executive leadership team on all phases of program administration, program development and scheduling.
- Work closely with the Team to ensure grant reporting is completed accurately and requirements are being implemented.
- Supervise program staff, interns, and volunteers, providing guidance, mentorship, and support.
- Foster a positive and collaborative team environment that encourages innovation and professional growth.
- Ensure program activities adhere to ethical and legal standards, grant guidelines, as well as organizational policies.
- Implement program training to maintain the effectiveness and integrity of programs.
Qualifications
● Passion for the organization's mission and commitment to making a positive impact.
● Ability to be a team player, work independently, and self-motivated.
● Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
● Previous experience in program management, preferably within the non-profit sector.
● Strong project management skills, including planning, execution, and evaluation and the ability to identify gaps, critical path, and successful impact. Project Management certification preferred.
● Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
● Experience in grant implementation and reporting.
● Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders and partners.
● Experience in project budget management and resource allocation.
● Data analysis skills and proficiency in using relevant software tools.
● Leadership experience and the ability to motivate and guide a team.
● Knowledge of program evaluation methodologies and impact assessment.
Schedule: Hours are Monday - Friday 8:00 - 5:00. This is a hybrid position with some local travel involved.
Pay: $45k-55k/year
