Job Overview

Universal Tank & Fabrication is an industry leading manufacturer of pressure vessels and specialized fabrications serving customers throughout North America. We are currently seeking a full time Industrial Finish Technician in Dubuque, IA. Join the UTF family and become part of an organization that’s “delivering on our promise of quality”.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Sandblasting in a variety of tank sizes
  • Steel shot or glass bead blasting as required per ASTM and paint specs.
  • Must wear a full head respirator when blasting and proper PPE.
  • Grinding and sanding welds to meet various welding codes.
  • Hydrostatically test vessels and tanks as required.
  • Package and load product for shipment.
  • Install internal and external components.
  • Perform other tasks as necessary.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic crane operation and material handling (material handling).
  • Must have excellent communication skills and the willingness to work with others in a team environment.
  • Exceptional listening skills and able to take direction well from others.
  • Read tape measure to 1/16".
  • Basic hand tool knowledge.
  • Climb ladders, wear a respirator and fit through manways as required.
  • Willingness to fill in wherever necessary which includes occasionally working different shifts.
