Your Responsibilities
As a Quality Engineer for John Deere Construction & Forestry, located in Dubuque, IA, you will...
- Support assembly operations in our Backhoe Module
- Use data to investigate, contain, and resolve quality issues through root cause identification
- Work with cross functional teams to design inherent quality validation into processes
- Support quality planning and execution discussions (PFMEA, Control Plan, PVA) and maintain historical performance documentation and metrics for team
- Lead and actively participate in Continuous Improvement (CI) – improving and implementing departmental Safety, Quality, Efficiency, Delivery, ergonomic improvements, and cost reduction ideas

What Skills You Need
- Experience exhibiting technical aptitude in one of the following areas: hydraulics, powertrain, structures, electrical, and/or manufacturing processes
- Good communication skills and demonstrated ability to work effectively with salaried and wage personnel in a team environment
- Ability to analyze data to understand issues and opportunities for improvement
- Knowledge of basic data analysis techniques. (e.g. pareto charts, histograms, pie and bar charts and control plans)
- A self-starter with the ability to execute a variety of tasks with little supervision
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
What Makes You Stand Out
- Work experience involving hands on use of quality tools such as FMEA, Control Plans, DPAR, PPAP, DMAIC, Six Sigma, and 8D Problem Solving
- Advanced quality analysis techniques such as data base, Minitab, excel, and other
- Knowledge of drawing and schematic interpretation, product models, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing
Education
Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:
- Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology
