Job Overview

Nurse:

A local summer camp is looking to add a Registered Nurse to their staff. Qualified candidates must have strong morals, values and personal convictions to help other and the ability to work as a team member.

Wage:

$2,000/wk

GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS:

• Good physical and emotional health.
• Be able to work with all age groups and all disabilities.
• Ability to work as a member of a team.
• Strong morals, values and personal convictions to help others.
• Must attend Staff Orientation.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must be licensed RN in the state of Iowa
• Provide a copy of CPR/first aid certificate.

DUTIES:

• Provide instruction to counselors on Personal Care techniques during orientation.
• Assist in situations requiring medical assistance, referring to a physician, if necessary.
• Contact the Executive Director immediately when a camper requires medical attention
• (transported to ER). Contact parent, guardian or facility regarding the incident. Give a copy of the incident report and faxed Dr. Orders to individual picking camper up and discuss the incident and any follow up needed.
• Responsible for medication intake upon arrival every Sunday and counselor medication while campers are present.
• Keep records of all medical treatment and all special prescriptions on med sheet.
• Retain and review records of all incident reports with campers and staff (i.e. seizures, accidents, sickness, etc) pertaining to each week.
• Follow established protocol to dispense medications at our four scheduled medication times: breakfast, lunch, dinner and 9pm
• Compiles medication pass schedule for staff.
• Must be on duty during check in and check out to handle any questions by caregivers.
• Check health supplies and set up the medication room for your functional purposes.
• Advise of any special diets which may be required.
• Be proficient in emergency procedures for evacuation
• Attend weekly HR meetings with the Management team for weekly review.
