Your Responsibilities

As a Revenue Cycle Manager your primary responsibilities include oversight and direction of revenue cycle activities within Hillcrest Family Services. Ensures timely and accurate submission of claims for services provided by commercial insurance carriers and government health programs. Completes monthly billing and reconciliation of all program accounts receivable accounts, except grants. Processes and codes daily revenue to the proper accounts. In addition, you will:

  • Supervises and oversees all outgoing billing (CMS-1500 forms), invoices and statements for submission to appropriate client, agency, or insurance company or sends data information electronically for payment. Ensures proper protocols are followed for submission of billable services to individuals, government programs and commercial insurance carriers.
  • Continually monitors and evaluates roles and responsibilities among Revenue Cycle staff to ensure optimal efficiency. Supervises and oversees billing readiness for submission. Follows up on all issues with appropriate program staff for correction prior to submission.
  • Oversees compilation of spreadsheets summarizing billing information for tracking various issues for distribution within and outside the agency. Analyzes and evaluates activity and reports on a continual basis to diagnose potential revenue cycle issues. Disseminates performance data to leadership at all Hillcrest Units on a regular basis. Works with leadership directly to enhance reporting capabilities and determine areas of improve overall Revenue Cycle activities within the organization.
  • Supervises and oversees the preparation of client accounts for collections activity if account is deemed outstanding and no attempt has been made to pay. Reviews and approves uncollectable, write-off of 3rd party balances and adjustments for general ledger. Prepare write-offs, adjustments and refunds for review and processing. Obtains authorization from CFO or prior to moving balances to bad debt.
  • Stays current with changing technology, including software programs. Stays informed about changes in Medicare, Medicaid and other payers.
  • Utilizes EHR system to research, analyze, and report on ways to maximize revenue, and ensure continual revenue cycle process improvement.
  • Coordinates with all direct programs on their billing, funding, scheduling, and client issues. Meets regularly with organizational senior leadership to report performance and recommend changes and/or enhancements to the Revenue Cycle within the organization.
  • Evaluates the job performance of all direct reports and provides in a timely manner. Reviews evaluations with supervisor and obtains signature prior to delivery.
  • Provides work direction and assignment of responsibilities to Revenue Cycle Staff. Develops and maintains of standard billing protocols to be followed by Revenue Cycle staff, including billing (charges), posting of payments and claims follow-up activities.
  • Creates, manages and implements policies that impacts the revenue cycle department.
  • Special projects and other duties as assigned by CFO.

 

What You Need

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1-3 years of supervisory/management experience required.
  • Electronic billing or Electronic Medical Record EMR experience a must. Past experience in health care revenue cycle/billing activities with at least two years experience in accounting and accounts receivable procedures or related skills is required.

 

What Makes You Stand Out

  • Two year technical degree in computer skills and or accounting degree a plus.
  • Bachelors degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university preferred.
  • Knowledge of CPT and ICD coding required, Certified Medical Coder preferred.
  • Experience working for or with Managed Care Organizations preferred.
  • Past experience in a non-profit mental health center environment is highly desirable.
