Route Driver

Location: Dubuque, IA

Position Type: Full-Time

Hours: Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM (some on-call required)

Compensation: $20 per hour

Description: A Dubuque company is seeking a reliable and skilled Route Driver to deliver products to customers. The ideal candidate must have a CDL Class B or C with Hazmat endorsement, a good driving record, and strong customer service skills. This role involves 70% driving within a 100-mile radius and 30% shop work.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver product and equipment to customers in various locations
• Load and unload product with care and in compliance with safety regulations 
• Conduct pre trip and post trip inspections of the vehicle
• Check regulators and hoses for proper functioning
• Provide excellent customer service and handle cash/payments
• Perform shop tasks as needed
• Maintain accurate records of deliveries and installations
• Follow all company policies and procedures, including safety protocols and traffic laws.

Requirements:

• Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with Hazmat endorsement
• Clean driving record.
• Previous experience in delivery driving is preferred but not required.
• Must pass yearly DOT required physical examination and random DOT required drug testing
• Ability to lift and move heavy cylinders (up to 100 lbs.) regularly.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• High school diploma or equivalent
