Job Overview

PRIMARY FUNCTION

Kick off your sales career with a company that’s been winning for over 130 years.

Flexsteel’s Sales Development Program is a full-time, 18-24-month experience designed for early-career professionals ready to grow fast and think big.

It starts at our Global Headquarters in Dubuque, Iowa. You’ll learn the ins and outs of the business, connect with key stakeholders—including executive leadership—and begin shaping the future of Flexsteel sales.

We’re looking for competitive, driven individuals who love to win and want to be part of an innovative, results-focused team. You’ll get broad business exposure, one-on-one mentorship, and the skills to succeed long-term.

When you complete the program, you’ll be ready to step into a Sales Representative or eCommerce Account Manager role—anywhere in the U.S. We’ll support your relocation and set you up for success.

If you're hungry to grow and ready to make an impact, this role is for you!

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:

Participants will:

  • Successfully complete a structured 6–9 month rotational curriculum, including:
    • Customer Care: Handle customer communication, process orders and warranty claims, and coordinate with other teams.
    • Product Development: Support new product launches and enhancements to existing product lines.
    • Sales Operations & Retail Development: Provide tools, training, and strategic support to internal and external sales teams.
    • Marketing: Learn about marketing initiatives and contribute to promotional and creative projects.
    • Finance & Operations: Gain exposure to core business functions and strategic planning processes.
  • Work alongside Flexsteel Sales Reps or eCommerce Managers to support account growth and drive results.
  • Present market research, and use data to influence and support customers.
  • Develop and execute field sales support plans for a portfolio of accounts.
  • Complete core projects in Sales, Marketing, or Product Development.
  • Prepare and distribute customer-focused reporting and analysis.
  • Participate in professional development focused on communication, time management, and business planning.
  • Promotion and relocation upon successful completion of the program.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

The expected base salary range for this position is $50,000–$60,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. In addition to base pay, business-related expenses will be reimbursed.

This role is eligible for Flexsteel’s annual performance-based review program, giving you the opportunity to grow your compensation as you grow your career with us.

We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including:

  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance options
  • A robust 401(k) plan with company match
  • Paid holidays and generous paid time off (PTO)
  • Three days of paid volunteer leave each year to support causes that matter to you
