Summary:

Safeguards A.Y. McDonald Mfg. Co. Property and Facilities against fire, theft, vandalism, and illegal entry by performing the following duties.

Main Responsibilities:

Patrols property and facilities of A.Y. McDonald Mfg. Co.
Lock doors, unlock doors, turn lights on and turn lights off.
Examines doors, windows, and gates to determine that they are secure.
Watches for and reports irregularities such as fire hazards, leaking water pipes, and security doors left unlocked.
Observes departing personnel to guard against theft of company property.
Sounds alarm or notifies the police or fire department by telephone in case of fire, presence of unauthorized persons, or emergency situations.
Permits authorized persons to enter facility.
Records data such as property damage, unusual occurrences, and malfunctioning of machinery or equipment, for use of supervisory and maintenance staff.
Properly inform guard or HR personnel on following shift of all notable issues encountered during security watch, in order to allow for a smooth transition between security shifts.
Foundry readings /logs - Fire extinguishers, loop reading, Ajax reading, etc.
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Senior Maintenance Supervisor.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
