Your Responsibilities

As a Senior Automation Engineer (TDP) for JD Dubuque Works located in Dubuque, Iowa, you will:

Develop technology solution in the area of Automation to Autonomy (A2A).
Utilize the Technology Development Process (TDP) to design, develop, and deliver solutions in the area of automation/controls.
Collaborate with John Deere C&F Embedded Systems, C&F Product Groups, Intelligent Solutions Group (ISG) and others to design and deliver demonstrated technology-based systems to the Product Delivery Process (PDP).
Apply knowledge of company products, policies and practices to deliver technology solutions to our customers that improves their business in a profitable way.

What Skills You Need

3 or more years of experience solving problems involving 3D multibody dynamics & kinematics
Proven ability to communicate complex technical issues
3 or more years of experience in building relationships with partners or suppliers to deliver innovation customer solutions
5 or more years of product engineering experience with construction or off-road equipment

What Makes You Stand Out

Experience of hydraulic system control design & automation
Experience with Matlab/Simulink tool set and deep learning algorithms
Experience programming embedded systems
3 years design experience of controls, software, multibody dynamics or hydraulics
Experience working with off-road vehicle applications and systems
Experience designing and developing control systems
Experience with DSM modeling or model based software development Knowledge of sensor solutions for close loop feedback
An advanced degree in an engineering discipline

Education

Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:

Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Electrical, Mechanical or Agricultural Engineering or equivalent
Advanced coursework or 5+ years of experience in control of mechanical systems
