Job Overview
Summary: The Senior Dental Lab Technician Manager will be responsible for managing the onsite dental lab at Crescent Community Health Center.
Essential Duties: Essential job duties for this position include the following items. Other duties must be performed as assigned or required.
- Maintain flow of dental lab schedule in a timely manner.
- Manage assigned dental technician staff.
- Help with developing workflows and ensuring a robust quality assurance and quality improvement program.
- Adhere to safety practices and ensure compliance with all relevant state and federal laws, rules, and guidelines.
- Operate and maintain dental laboratory equipment according to manufacturer's recommendations.
- Always show, the knowledge, ability and skills required to safely use hand tools and equipment including but not limited to electric drills, trimmers, milling machines, furnaces, etc.
- Demonstrate knowledge of dental anatomy.
- Fabricate fixed and/or removable prosthesis.
- Fabricate complete and partial dentures from start to finish using traditional and digital work flows as directed by staff dentists.
- Repair, reline, rebase, add teeth or clasps to removable prosthesis.
- Demonstrate ability, knowledge, and skills to digitally design dental restorations or prosthesis.
- Have practical knowledge and excellent skills in milling and 3D printing of dental restorations and prosthesis.
- Use Computer Aided Design and Computer Aided Manufacturing to mill or otherwise 3D print removable and fixed prosthesis.
- Provide practical instruction and training to Dental Technicians/trainees.
- Accurate documentation and record keeping
- Complete all other assigned projects and duties.
Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, the individual in this position must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the minimum knowledge, skills and ability required.
Education/Experience:
- A degree in Dental Technology is preferred but not required.
- A minimum of 10 years as a dental lab technician.
Language Skills:
- Communicate clearly, professionally, and respectfully with all patients and staff.
Mathematical Skills:
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability:
- Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.
- Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, musical notes, etc.,).
- Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
- If certified, completion of credentialing and privileging requirements.
