Make an Impact!

At McGraw Hill we create best-in-class, next-generation learning platforms that are used by millions of students and educators worldwide from kindergarten through graduate school. Our goal is to accelerate student success through intuitive and effective learning tools and content that maximize a teacher’s time and a student’s learning experience. We do all of this in a supportive, collaborative environment where you can grow your career in a way that fits into your life.

How can you make an impact?

This Senior Digital Editor will be responsible for the acquisition, development, and optimization of digital content sets for the AccessEngineering institutional subscription product, as well as for signing and maintaining a small number of engineering print titles. This position will engage with relevant technical communities to understand their educational needs and align those with content gaps on AccessEngineering that must be filled.

This is a remote position open to applicants authorized to work for any employer within the United States.

What you will be doing:

  • Acquire and develop 8-10 digital content sets (video, audio, spreadsheets, problem walkthroughs, cases, etc.) for AccessEngineering annually, focused upon key content gaps in the product.
  • Work with SMEs and internal resources to optimize digital content sets for online user experience
  • Acquire 5-7 print titles, first editions and revisions, annually.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the AccessEngineering product, so as to acquire and develop appropriate digital content for it.
  • Articulate the programs, projects, content, and strategy through excellent written and oral communications skills.
  • Network within relevant technical communities by attending conferences and through campus visits in order to; 1) strengthen overall market and competitive knowledge; 2) build relationships with key subject matter experts; and 3) translate this knowledge into business plans for program growth.

We are looking for someone with:

  • Must have a Bachelor’s Degree and bring 5+ years of digital content development and acquisitions experience in engineering, science, or other technical content markets to support high-quality content creation and platform growth.
  • Build and maintain a strong network of technical subject matter experts, identifying and collaborating with them to acquire, refine, and position high-value digital content.
  • Work effectively with technical faculty and professional associations, leveraging their expertise to inform content needs, validate direction, and ensure market relevance.
  • Apply strong communication and project-management skills to coordinate stakeholders, manage timelines, oversee content development, and guide projects through to completion.
  • Conduct research and analysis within assigned engineering topic areas to determine which content to develop, ensuring alignment with user needs and platform priorities.
  • Immerse in specialized engineering communities and work with authors to shape content strategy—guiding them through the publishing process and ensuring manuscripts meet production standards for form, style, accuracy, and positioning.
