This position is eligible for a flexible work schedule arrangement at the present time. The arrangement may be delayed for training or other job acclimation purposes and remains subject to change.
Your Responsibilities
As a Senior Manufacturing Engineer, Assembly for John Deere located in Dubuque, IA, you will plan, coordinate, and perform manufacturing engineering work to support the enterprise product delivery process. Projects will be of moderate scope and responsibility or may be a significant portion of a major and diverse project or process. These responsibilities include:
- Innovating and implementing cost reduction, quality, safety, and ergonomic improvement ideas of moderate scope through EPDP processes. This includes applying electronic tools across a broad range of applications, including e-builds, modeling, and simulations.
- Coordinating work based upon new model program needs such as facility changes, plan for every part, tooling requirement, design for manufacturing, supporting physical builds and start of production
- Determining high level design for manufacturing and automation strategies and delivering on manufacturing excellence cost reduction targets

What Skills You Need
- 5 or more years of experience in manufacturing engineering, project management and process implementation
- Experience implementing new product program
- Proven track record for improving safety and quality of processes through Design for Manufacturing
- Prior experience in RFQ preparation, capital project management, and tooling specification development
- Experience working with cross-functional teams to achieve project outcomes
- Knowledge of joint design, torque tooling and capability of different tools
- Ability to travel up to 25% (Domestic)
What Makes You Stand Out
- Previous experience leading large capital investment projects or PDP programs
- Experience implementing automation solutions into manufacturing operations
- Industrial engineering expert and/or willingness to develop and learn
- Experience with line design, material presentation and process simulation
- Experience with SAP, JDAAT, MP-Planner, CProjects, or similar manufacturing planning and execution systems
- Demonstrated ability to engage, coach and train people on how to use new technology solutions
Education
Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:
- Engineering degree or equivalent manufacturing experience
