Job Overview

Mi-T-M Corporation is seeking a Senior Product Manager at its headquarters in Peosta, IA.  Reporting to the VP, Commercialization, the Senior Product Manager will be responsible for category strategy planning and overseeing execution of profitable growth plans including product lifecycle management and prioritizing product opportunities.  This role will lead development of customer-centric category plans, working with Sales and Marketing to identify new growth opportunities and specifying new products that encompass customer requirements and define the product line/s vision.  This role works collaboratively with engineering, manufacturing, sales, and marketing to ensure revenue, profitability and customer satisfaction goals are met.

Role and Responsibility:

  • Driving product portfolio to meet the needs of the market. Working with marketing, engineering, and services to create long-term product roadmaps, requirements and business plans.
  • Lead the new product definition process including researching trends, ideating new designs, and working closely with technical teams to ensure high-quality and innovative product solutions.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with various teams, including engineering, sourcing, production, and sales, to ensure seamless execution of the product development process and the timely delivery of products to market.
  • Responsible for product pricing, product line profitability and ultimate delivery of product line EBITDA.
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activities to identify opportunities for growth and innovation.
  • Leverage customer feedback, data and insights to fuel development and continuous improvement.
  • Close collaboration with sales and marketing to translate needs, market analysis, competitive analysis, and regulatory environment factors into actionable strategies and tactics for products.
  • Evaluate and manage product customization, balancing resource requirements with profitability.
  • Lead product assortment optimization efforts and new product onboarding.
  • Establish tradeoffs between internal development and business partnership activities with strategic partners-including negotiations and maintenance, product changes, forecasting and financials.
  • Work with Sales Operations to provide accurate forecasting for product categories.
  • Evangelize for the product by presenting to customers and user’s groups; represent the product at trade shows; sell product roadmap internally; participate in winning sales; provide sales training and generate enthusiasm for the product.
  • Create a team environment that encourages innovation.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university preferred, with 5+ years of Product Management experience including working with product vendors, experience with product development, market research, and customer product expectations.
  • Strong technical background, engineering knowledge preferred.
  • Strong financial acumen, with a complete understanding of P&L and financial performance metrics.
  • Industry and category experience desired.
  • Knowledge and awareness of competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills that translates to presentation skills
  • Proficiency in all MS Office applications. Advanced user of Excel and/or related database software.
  • Strong communication, negotiation and consultative sales skills.
  • Outstanding leadership skills with proven analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Candidate must be reliable, regular attendance in the office (onsite) is required when not traveling.
  • Ability to multitask while operating with a sense of urgency and using good judgement.
