Summary:
Manage shared services functions of the Finance Department, including payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash management, and projects as required by senior management. Set departmental goals annually and monitor progress.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the day-to-day management of the shared services team accountable for providing transactional accounting services for all A.Y. McDonald Industries subsidiary companies.
- Carry out department management functions, including but not limited to approving timecards and PTO requests, leading weekly department meeting, and holding bi-weekly one on one meetings.
- Responsible for driving operational efficiency across all department functions, strengthening processes and controls, driving improvement in company working capital, and ensuring achievement of department Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
- Ensures month-end close activities are completed on schedule and with accuracy including producing timely and accurate reporting of key operational and financial metrics
- Assist staff in efficient and effective performance of departmental responsibilities and achievement of all department goals.
- Work effectively with department heads in process improvement and problem solving.
- Coordinate Finance Department use of ERP system and third-party accounting and payroll software, including regularly resolving problems and developing enhancements.
- Initiate or approve wire and ACH payments via online banking
- Plays a key role in supporting the implementation or upgrade of financial information systems as well as subsidiary integration activities
- Preparation of special reports and analytics as required.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) in Accounting from four-year college or university; or four to six years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
