Your Responsibilities
As a Structures Design Engineer for John Deere Dubuque Works located in Dubuque, Iowa, you will:
- Have ownership of Product Delivery Process (PDP) of structures & sheet metal design for Articulated Dump Trucks (ADTs) including component design, design review leadership, component selection/integration leadership, and interaction with cross functional teams.
- Provide work direction to supporting engineers, including on-site contractors and off-site engineers supporting ADTs.
- Diagnose and resolve field issues with Product Support and DTAC teams.
- Provide technical support for internal structural fabrication and manufacturing.
- Execute ISDP design activities to feed future PDP programs.

What Skills You Need
- 2 or more years of engineering experience performing analysis, testing and/or design work for a defined portion of a project.
- 2 or more years’ experience determining root cause and identifying corrective actions.
- 2 or more years’ experience collaborating with suppliers on design engineering requirements.
- 2 or more years’ experience working with Creo or other 3-D modeling software.
- Effective communication skills: verbal, written and organizational.
- Strong technical knowledge of geometric dimensioning & tolerancing
- Strong technical knowledge of structural fabrication and welding processes
- Demonstrated experience collaborating effectively with cross functional teams.
What Makes You Stand Out
- Experience with off-road equipment structural design, simulation, manufacturing and test processes, component development with suppliers
- Experience working with PDP/EPDP processes.
- Experience working in SAP.
- Experience working in cProjects or part workflow management.
- Experience working with Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
Education
Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Agricultural Engineering or equivalent
