Summer Claims Adjuster 

Seeking interested college students!

What our Seasonal Claims Adjusters do and why it’s important:

Cottingham and Butler is growing, and we are adding Seasonal Claims Adjusters to our team! As a Seasonal Claims Adjuster, you will work directly with our clients to help manage their claims. You will make a direct impact on a daily basis by carrying out the top-tier services that define Cottingham and Butler Claims Services. 

This position will run from May of 2025 - August of 2025.

In practice, the core activities of your job will be to:

  • Ensure that clients' claims are handled efficiently by investigating, evaluating, negotiating, and settling different claims on behalf of your clients
  • Build relationships with clients through friendly interaction, timely execution of requests, and close attention to detail
  • You will be communicating with a wide variety of individuals, to include CEO's, claimants, providers offices, and attorneys

Strengths and skills necessary for success in the role:

As a claims adjuster, you will leverage your strong analytical and problem-solving skills to tackle complex challenges and develop innovative solutions. Your excellent communication and negotiation skills will be essential in collaborating and achieving favorable outcomes. You will thrive both independently and in a team environment, demonstrating your ability to adapt and contribute effectively in various settings. Your strong organizational and time-management skills will ensure that projects are completed efficiently and deadlines are met. Additionally, your proficiency in computer programs, including Microsoft Office, will enable you to manage tasks and communicate effectively using essential tools.

The ideal candidate will have prior experience in a business setting or prior claims handling experience, a competitive spirit, and thrive in a fast-paced professional business environment. If you come from a claims background that’s great! However, we understand that most people don’t which is why we are willing to train you on the technical details. It’s more important to us that you embody the right personal characteristics. While we don’t expect you to be perfect in every aspect of the job right away, the aforementioned traits are essential for success in the role.
