Job Overview

The Project Superintendent will lead field operations to deliver a successful project to the client, on time, in budget and with high quality. The Project Superintendent is responsible for all field operations including safety, quality, productivity, planning, scheduling, client relations, team building, risk management, cost estimation, subcontractor management and execution strategy.  Travel is required dependent upon assigned project.

Requirements

  • Five or more years of relevant construction industry experience with superintendent duties
  • Expert knowledge of various areas of construction
  • Expert knowledge of basic OSHA Safety regulations
  • Self-directed, organized, and motivated to accomplish goals
  • Excellent teamwork, communication and people skills
  • Proactive and pragmatic thinker, deliberate and decisive in making decisions
  • Solid time management and excellent organization skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel & Outlook

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations at the jobsite
  • Read and decipher blueprints, specifications and project documents
  • Set, communicate and enforce goals, timelines and schedules with crews
  • Lead the development of the project schedule with the Project Manager and ensure the team is executing to the plan
  • Troubleshoot on-site challenges, resolve conflicts and adapt plans to address unexpected delays
  • Implement effective cost controls over labor, material, equipment and other expenditures
  • Understand the operational details of all subcontracts and maintain subcontractor accountability
  • Maintain clear communication with Project Manager and client to provide progress updates and address concerns
  • Lead and enforce safety policies, procedures and address non-compliance with employees, subcontractors and vendors as needed
  • Create and coordinate requests for information
  • Coordinate change order requests
  • Maintain As-Built drawings on the jobsite
  • Work with Project Manager to order materials and schedule deliveries
  • Lead all required pre-installation conferences on the jobsite
  • Help facilitate and/or run job progress meetings
  • Coordinate all building inspections with local and/or state officials
  • Maintain a positive company image, demonstrate integrity and trust
  • Understands and complies with all company policies and safety guidelines

May be required to lift and carry 20 lbs. regularly and occasionally lift and carry up to 50 lbs. Bending, kneeling, crouching, crawling, climbing and reaching may be required up to 50% of the time.

Work is performed in varied environments with exposure to outdoor elements, including wet surfaces, humid conditions and high variation in temperatures. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, power tools and working surfaces of various heights. Loud noise is typical at worksites. Fumes or airborne particles may be present at worksites.
