Job Overview

As the Clinical Therapy Supervisor you will be responsible for managing and supervising a team of clinical therapists to deliver effective, evidenced-based therapy and support services to clients. This role combines clinical oversight with administrative duties, including supervising treatment planning, conducting performance evaluations, ensuring regulatory compliance, and providing professional development opportunities for team members. This role would oversee Hillcrest’s clinical internship program, orientating master’s student candidates to Hillcrest along with overseeing their work/internship/practicum at the agency. The Clinical Therapy Supervisor also collaborates with other departments and external partners to optimize client care and resources.. Additional responsibilities include:

Your Responsibilities

  • Supervise, mentor, and provide clinical guidance to a team of therapists, including interns, ensuring they deliver high-quality, client-centered care.
  • Conduct regular individual and group supervision sessions to discuss case plans, therapeutic approaches, and clinical challenges.
  • Support clinical staff in developing treatment plans, setting goals, and evaluating client progress.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Clinical Services to develop and refine programs, ensuring alignment with best practices and client needs.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of therapeutic programs through client outcomes, feedback, and data analysis.
  • Establish and maintain quality assurance processes, ensuring compliance with ethical standards, clinical guidelines, and organizational policies.
  • Identify training needs and organize continuing education opportunities for clinical staff, focusing on evidenced-based practices and emerging therapeutic approaches.
  • Provide coaching and support for clinical therapists’ professional growth, clinical skills development, and career advancement.
  • Keep abreast of industry trends and provide updates or training on new therapeutic techniques and regulations.
  • Occasionally carry a small caseload, particularly in cases that require higher levels of supervision or complex therapeutic approaches.
  • Oversee clinical assessments, crisis intervention, and treatment planning to ensure clients receive individualized and effective care.
  • Provide clinical oversight and support for cases requiring immediate or intensive interventions.
  • Ensure all documentation, including client records and treatment plans, is accurate, timely and compliant with regulatory standards (e.g. HIPAA, state licensing boards).
  • Develop and enforce policies regarding client confidentiality, record-keeping, and treatment protocols.
  • Assist with hiring, onboarding, and performance evaluations for clinical staff, collaborating with HR and other departments as needed.
  • Act as a liaison between clinical team and other departments, promoting a cohesive, interdisciplinary approach to client care
  • Develop relationships with external partners, including healthcare providers, social services, and community organizations, to enhance client referrals and resources.
  • Represent the organization in external forums, conferences, and community events as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

What You Need

  • Masters in a mental health field with clinical focus 
  • Licensed as Mental Health Counselor, Independent Social Worker, or Marital and Family Therapist in the state of Iowa.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of post-licensure experience..
  • Relevant experience in behavioral healthcare setting
