Your Responsibilities
As a Supplier Quality Engineer for Deere Excavator team located in Dubuque, Iowa, you will Lead PDP (Product Delivery Process) Quality Planning activities for various subsystems and components. In addition, you will…
- Facilitate and utilize System, Design and Process FMEAs (Failure Modes Effects Analysis) for internal manufactured and supplier components and assemblies
- Facilitate Design Reviews, FGRs (Functional Geometry Reviews) and DPARs (Design Process and Assembly Review) to ensure quality planning alignment among cross functional teams and suppliers
- Use Quality tools consistent with Quality Processes to enable the focus on prevention by identifying and performing activities to minimize risk
- Use Six Sigma and 8D methodology to identify issues, determine root cause, and drive corrective action with suppliers for their non-conformances
- Verify manufacturing processes (establish control plans, assembly instructions) and process capability. Review and approve quality plan documentation (PPAP - Production Part Approval Process) prior to production launch.
- Perform Supplier Quality Audits and Internal Mfg/Assembly Audits
- Support PDP builds activities as required at and travel to suppliers and sister factories for build support, problem resolution and relationship development

What Skills You Need (Required skills/experiences)
- Effective facilitation, communication, and presentation skills
- Strong ability to collaborate and work well with a team
- Demonstrated project management skills
- Previous work experience with one or more of the following commodities: Metal Fabrication, hydraulics, powertrain , plastic components, etc.
- 3 or more years of experience with quality management and/or manufacturing processes
- 2 or more years of experience with standard quality management principles and tools (such as FMEA, SPC, Root Cause, Control Plans, Gauge R&R, MSA and Capability Studies)
- Experience reading and interpreting complex part drawings, including functional knowledge of GD&T
- Understanding of advanced data gathering and analysis techniques, including statistical analysis
- Experience in driving a closed loop corrective action process, including rigorous root cause analysis
What Makes You Stand Out (Desired skills/experiences)
- Prior work experience communicating with suppliers
- Experience in Data and Analytics (Specifically with Tableau, Power BI etc.)
- ASQ Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification
- Certified Auditor (JDS G223 or PVA)
- Advanced degree in Engineering or an MBA
- Experience working in Global team
Education
Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
