Your Responsibilities
As a Supplier Quality Engineer for John Deere Dubuque Works located in Dubuque, IA, you will:
- Support daily build operations at the factory by enabling the production team.
- Resolve and prevent customer experience/warranty issues and as delivered quality issues by collaborating with suppliers and product line personnel to drive supplier improvement activities.
- Lead and facilitate meetings with suppliers; Design Reviews; Design, Process, and Assembly Reviews (DPARs); Design and Process Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (D&PFMEAs); audit Production Part Approval Process (PPAPs); manage NCCA issues and CARs.
- Ensure robust execution of Return Goods Authorization (RGAs); Supplier Change Requests (SCRs); quality plans, and supplier improvement activities as required.
- Work closely with Design Engineering and Supply Management to ensure that all requirements are adequately documented and assigned suppliers

What Skills You Need
- 2 or more years of experience working in or with a manufacturing or assembly environment.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and document containment, root cause corrective action, and complex machine/material disposition.
- Knowledge of drawing and schematic interpretation, product models, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing
- Experience utilizing standard quality tools, (Such as: FMEA, DPAR's, and PPAP's)
- Experience in project management and problem solving to rapidly respond to quality issues
- Effective communication (both verbal & written) with the ability to lead difficult discussions with all levels of the organization
What Makes You Stand Out
- 2 or more years of experience with designing, testing, integrating, manufacturing or assembling components.
- A self-starter, self-motivated, positive attitude as well as able to identify projects and priorities with minimal supervision
- Experience with quality tools (such as Six Sigma, Supplier Change Requests, Quality Plans, NCCA, Project Doc, Root Cause Analysis, etc.)
- Experience developing and improving local and international suppliers to drive robust product, processes, and controls
- Hands on audit experience (JDS-G223, Process Verification Audits, Special Process Audits, etc.)
- Experience with Control Plans, Statistical Process Control (SPC), Pareto analysis, Gage Repeatability and Reproducibility (GR&R) and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T)
- 2 or more years of experience in one of the following areas: Design, Product Validation, Manufacturing, or Quality
Education
Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology (Mechanical or Electrical Engineering degrees are preferred)
