POSITION PURPOSE:
Under limited supervision greets customers and answers telephone in manner, which facilitates the functions of Purchasing and SPD.

What you will do:

- Maintains a working knowledge of applicable Federal, State and local laws and regulations, Trinity Health’s Organizational Integrity Program, Standards of Conduct, as well as other policies and procedures in order to ensure adherence in a manner that reflects honest, ethical and professional behavior.
- Performs other duties consistent with purpose of job as directed.
What we are looking for:
- High School graduate or equivalent.
- Prefer at least six months previous hospital work experience.
- Child and Dependent Adult Abuse Mandatory Reporter Training is required within 6 months of hire and every 5 years thereafter.
- Maintains a professional, collaborative work environment so as to foster a positive public image for Mercy Medical Center.
- Knows and adheres to all laws and regulations pertaining to patient health, safety and medical information (i.e. HIPAA, Stark, etc.).
- Must have excellent communication skills.
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality.
- Must be able to work under a great deal of pressure/stress.
- Able to work with little supervision.
- Able to use CRT terminal and a computer.
- Able to use a calculator for simple mathematical calculations.
- DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Demonstrates the mission and values of Mercy Medical Center.
- Coordinates the internal activities of sales representatives.
- Answers telephone for Purchasing.
- Coordinates the petty cash function.
- Files group contracts and purchase order requisitions.
- Reconciles faxed orders requiring confirmation and forwards any discrepancy to the appropriate Contract Analyst.
- Assists with employee sales.
- Data enters non-stock requisitions for purchase orders already placed with vendor/company.
- Assists Contract Analyst with data entry of reprocessed items.
- Takes an active role in improving the quality of the service of the department.
- Undergo annual training through Healthstreams concerning the appropriate handling and security of IV Solutions and medications.
