Summary:
Perform or coordinate acquisition, installation, and support of PCs and Systems within the company.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Acquire and install, configure, monitor, and maintain:
- PC applications, virtual and physical servers.
- Network operating system software, network backup software, and other network utilities.
- Network infrastructure, including cabling, switches, and shared devices such as printers.
- Wide area networking including SDWAN and other data communications products.
- Corporate e-mail, and security (antivirus, firewalls, zero trust network access, and patch management).
- Provide support for IoT and OT devices for manufacturing facilities.
- SAN (storage area networking)
- Support Cloud infrastructure.
- Selects vendors and monitors their performance.
- Troubleshoot and correct failures or performance problems involving any aspect of the above systems, using contractors as required.
- Maintain systems compliance as it pertains to:
- Security of systems
- Compliance with federal contract requirements
- Reliability enhancements such as firmware or software upgrades
- Document systems and processes to ensure continuity regardless of staff retention.
- Assist users with PC applications.
- Review, test, and diagnose network wiring for faults, labelling and proper installation.
- Administer dedicated Internet connections and remote access, including security measures and usage policies.
- Work with Applications team in the implementation of systems and software needed to support the corporate ERP.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year College or university and one to two years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- A successful candidate will have a firm understanding of network segmentation, VLANs, wireless networking, Zero Trust/VPN, and SDWAN/site to site connectivity.
