McGraw Hill, a global leader in education, is seeking Senior Technical Business Management (TBM) Specialist to optimize technology investment decisions through the Apptio platform. In this role, you’ll partner with IT, finance, and business teams to align the TBM framework with organizational goals, ensuring clear visibility into costs, value, and performance. By delivering actionable insights and improving cost transparency, you’ll help connect technology spend to business outcomes, driving smarter, data-driven decisions across the enterprise.

This is a remote position open to applicants authorized to work for any employer within the United States.

What you will be doing:

  • Collaborate with IT, finance, and business leaders to gather requirements and ensure the Apptio platform and TBM framework align with strategic objectives.
  • Implement, maintain, and enhance the TBM framework within Apptio, including building cost models, allocation rules, and dashboards, and delivering monthly reports to leadership and finance teams.
  • Manage data processes by extracting, transforming, and loading data from multiple sources, automating workflows where possible, maintaining integrations, and ensuring governance, quality, and accuracy.
  • Provide user support and training by developing instructional materials, leading workshops, promoting best practices, and assisting users with technical issues.
  • Oversee system operations and security by monitoring platform performance, managing access controls, troubleshooting, and maintaining detailed documentation.
  • Advance TBM initiatives through cross-functional collaboration, clear communication with technical and non-technical audiences, and delivering insights that connect technology investments to business value.

We’re looking for someone with:

  • 7+ years of experience using data to guide decisions, with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Deep expertise in the TBM framework and advanced skills in Apptio administration, configuration, and customization (CTBME and ApptioOne/Targetprocess certifications preferred).
  • Proven experience in data management, integration, and analysis, with knowledge of IT financial management processes.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills; able to work independently or in cross-functional teams.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), Agile methodologies, and IT infrastructure/operations.
  • FinOps experience or certification a plus.

The pay range for this position is between 125,000-135,000 annually, however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
