Your Responsibilities

The Teen Mental Health First Aid (tMHFA) Instructor is responsible for delivering the tMHFA training program to teens, educators, and community members. This role focuses on equipping individuals with the skills to identify, understand, and respond to signs of mental health and substance use challenges among adolescents. In addition, you will:

  • Conduct Teen Mental Health First Aid training sessions in schools, community centers, and other relevant settings
  • Ensure that all training sessions adhere to the standardized tMHFA curriculum and guidelines
  • Create an engaging and interactive learning environment that encourages participation and retention of information
  • Provide support and guidance to participants during and after the training sessions, addressing any questions or concerns
  • Assess the effectiveness of the training sessions through evaluations and feedback forms, making improvements as needed
  • Distribute educational materials and resources to participants to support their learning and application of tMHFA principles
  • Promote the tMHFA program within the community to increase awareness and participation
  • Maintain accurate records of training sessions, participant attendance, and feedback
  • Stay updated on the latest research and best practices in teen mental health and first aid training

 

What You Need

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to engage and motivate teens and adults
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong public speaking and presentation skills
  • Sensitivity to cultural and individual differences
  • Strong organizational and time management skills

 

What Makes You Stand Out

  • Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, education, or a related field
  • Previous experience in teaching, training, or facilitating group sessions, especially with adolescents, is highly desirable

 

Details

  • Teach 3 sessions per week
  • $37 per session
  • Each session is 90-miniutes

 

Schedule

September – W from 09/11 to 09/25

October – M, T, Th from 7AM-3PM

November – M, T, F from 7AM-3PM

Additional opportunities available after New Years

Fall schedule will go no later than November unless weather cancellations require classes to be rescheduled
