The Business Intelligence Developers of our Global Technology group work as platform owners. They own the entire platform right from the data access to design/deployment and implementation.

In the role of a TM1 Developer, you will be enabling various business groups and global management with actionable, timely information to drive accurate financial reporting, performance monitoring, and facilitating various business decisions.

You will develop and support current IBM Planning Analytics cubes, dimensions, rules, and actively build and design new processes/ systems, implement new IBM Planning Analytics applications, and thrive to learn new technologies and skills - Tableau, Alteryx, VBA and REST API.

What you will be doing:

  • You will be responsible for building and maintaining IBM Planning Analytics planning models. This involves creating dimensions, cubes, and rules that define the structure and calculations within the models. You should be proficient in writing TM1 rules and TI (TurboIntegrator) processes.
  • You will be working with business users to design and develop reports using Planning Analytics Workspace (PAW) and Planning Analytics for Excel (PAfE). Knowledge of Cognos Analytics is a plus.
  • Interact with internal client, developers and IT peers to ensure the successful delivery and implementation of modifications into the production environment.
  • Analyze and translate business requirements to functional specifications and provide recommendations and right solution design.
  • Co-ordinate with onsite and offshore teams and analyze problem statements, suggest various options to address the problem specifying functionality, integrating systems, applying patches and participating in a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Analyzed change requests, provide estimations, prepare project plans, execute the work, adhere to quality and follow client defined standards and processes.
  • Technology is constantly evolving, and IBM Planning Analytics is no exception. As a developer, it's important to stay updated with the latest features, enhancements, and best practices through IBM documentation, forums, and training resources.

 

We’re looking for someone with:

  • Minimum 5-7 years of IBM Planning Analytics TM1 specific experience including a deep understanding of the IBM Planning Analytics platform and its components. This includes knowledge of TM1 (IBM Cognos TM1) technology, which is the underlying engine of Planning Analytics, and its associated development tools and familiarity with TM1 Read/Write contention, causes of TM1 performance issues, multi-thread queries and MTQ programing methods.
  • IBM Planning Analytics developers often work closely with business users, analysts, and other stakeholders. Effective communication skills are vital for understanding requirements, gathering feedback, and presenting solutions.
  • Proficiency with TM1 Attribute based hierarchies and a knowledge of MDX. Experience with local currency reporting, budgeting, and estimating implementations in TM1.
  • Understands challenges of a globally used TM1 system, global connectivity methods, and global data load challenges.
  • Proficiency in IBM Planning Analytics TM1 programming using TurboIntegrator functions and rules to load and migrate data.
  • Ability to use SQL including writing TM1 programs with Oracle SQL pulls
