TOOL & DIE MAKER

Job Overview

Duties and responsibilities include:

1. Ability to build and assemble dies
2. Ability to diagnosis and trouble shoot metal stamping dies
3. Ability to read part prints and to layout parts
4. Ability to read detail prints, blue prints, etc.
5. Ability to show leadership in building of a die
6. Ability to delegate work to apprentice, machinists, etc.
7. Ability to develop trim edge forms to a part print
8. Ability to determine needs for machining of blocks
9. Maintain tooling and preventive maintenance on machinery
10. General housekeeping and cleanliness
11. Performs other duties as necessary

Requirements:

1. Willingness to work overtime
2. Ability to use basic math skills and apply daily
3. Ability to solve problems in a variety of situations
4. Ability to sit or stand for an extended period of time
5. Ability to manipulate necessary plant equipment
6. Ability to read, write and speak English

Working environment and conditions:

1. Performs duties in a well-ventilated, well-lighted, temperature-controlled plant

environment with some level of noise from machinery

2. Hearing protection, eye protection, and safety shoes are required

Education, training, and experience:

1. High school education or equivalent
2. Tool & Die apprenticeship card a plus
3. Area tech school a plus
