Hours: 5:00am – 3:30pm, Monday through Thursday (overtime hours as needed)

Job Summary:

The Fabrication Utility in the Laser Bed area is responsible for removing sharp edges, burrs, and excess material from metal parts to ensure they meet quality and safety standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Safely lift and carry parts to your workstation, operate a hoist when necessary
  • Use a mallet, hammer, or chisel to free parts from the sheet metal
  • Inspect metal parts for burrs, sharp edges, and surface imperfections
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and specialized deburring equipment to smooth edges and surfaces
  • Ensure all parts meet quality control specifications and tolerances
  • Read and interpret work orders, blueprints, or technical drawings
  • Follow all safety guidelines and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Work collaboratively with team members and other departments to meet production deadlines
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, including taking cardboard to the assigned disposal area

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Ability to work with small tools and handle precision work
  • Good hand-eye coordination and attention to detail
  • Ability to lift 50lbs
  • Great work ethic and attendance
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities
  • Flexibility and adaptability
  • Continuous improvement mindset
  • Ability to use various computer systems
  • Willingness to stand for extended periods throughout the shift
  • Ability to follow all safety protocols and procedures
  • Willingness to wear PPE and work in a factory environment with exposure to heat, noise, dust and fumes
