Job Description:

The Warehouse Picker is responsible for pulling store orders using radio frequency monitors (RF) in high or low racks, working at heights of up to 30 feet, and operating equipment such as forklifts, reach trucks, pallet jacks and pickers. The role also involves assisting with split outs and receiving tasks as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or GED
  • Experience: None

Job Duties:

  • Maintain equipment such as forklifts, reach trucks, pallet jacks and pickers, by following the specific steps for battery charging and maintenance.
  • Pull store merchandise orders using pallet jacks, electric forklifts, pickers, and reach trucks, following RF instructions.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy and notify management of any issues.
  • Build pallets by packing merchandise neatly, shrink wrapping, labeling, and moving to staging areas.
  • Clean warehouse by sweeping floors and removing trash.

Other Duties:

  • Arrange stock on shelves.
  • Watch for inventory inaccuracies.
  • Assist with training new associates.
  • Perform receiving duties.
  • All other duties as assigned by manager.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Administrative skills including checking work, planning, and record keeping.
  • Clerical skills such as ten-key and typing.
  • Computing skills for data entry.
  • Mathematical skills including calculating and problem-solving.
  • Reading and writing skills at a basic level.

Physical Demands:

Frequent physical demands include lifting up to 50 lbs., walking, standing, bending, twisting, reaching, pushing, pulling, squatting, kneeling, dexterity and light grasping. Occasional physical demands include lifting up to 75 lbs. and climbing stairs. The associate is required to talk and hear. Must be able to work required shifts and maintain attendance standards. Specific vision abilities required by this job include vision adequate for the incumbent to perform the responsibilities and functions of the job efficiently. The associate must have the manual dexterity to manually operate and use a computer, and a RF handheld scanner.

Work Environment and Working Conditions:

Work will normally be performed inside of a warehouse facility. Temperatures can vary from 32 degrees to 100 degrees. The work environment is usually fast paced with regular deadlines. Extreme noise and vibrations may occasionally be experienced. Associates may be subjected to hazards such as burns, cuts, strains, electrical, explosive, and mechanical. Due to the nature of the work, associates may be exposed to atmospheric conditions such as dust fumes, odors, and poor ventilation. For the safety of our associates, all associates are required to wear protective steel toed shoes as well as other protective devices that management deems appropriate.
