Job Overview
Location: Freeport IL
Shift: 1st Shift (6:00 AM – 2:30 PM, Monday–Friday, occasional Saturdays)
Pay: $16.00 – $17.50/hr (depending on experience)
Sedona Staffing is seeking reliable, and dedicated workers for paint line operator and welding positions within an industrial production environment. This role is responsible for ensuring high-quality output through proper equipment operation, adherence to specifications, and consistent inspection of finished products. Candidates will play a key role in maintaining production efficiency, safety, and quality standards.
- Operate and maintain paint line equipment, including spray guns, conveyors, booths, and dryers
- Prepare parts for painting (cleaning, sanding, masking, and pretreatment as required)
- Mix and apply coatings according to specifications, ensuring proper thickness, coverage, and finish quality
- Load/unload parts on the production lines and perform basic maintenance on equipment as needed
- Perform MIG welding on parts as required by production needs
- Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and specifications for both painting and welding tasks
- Conduct in-process inspections to identify defects (e.g., runs, sags, incomplete welds, or coverage issues)
- Perform touch-ups, rework, or adjustments to meet quality standards
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas, including paint booths and welding stations
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Previous manufacturing, paint line, or welding experience
- Minimum 1 year of MIG welding experience preferred (certification a plus, but not required)
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications
- Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to lift up to 50–60 lbs and perform physical tasks (standing, bending, reaching) for extended periods
