Job Overview
The welder is responsible for fabricating, assembling, and repairing metal components used in tool manufacturing. This role requires precision, adherence to safety standards, and the ability to work from technical drawings.
- Perform MIG, TIG, or stick welding on various metals (steel, aluminum, etc.)
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and work orders
- Set up and operate welding equipment safely and efficiently
- Inspect welds to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications
- Grind, cut, and prepare materials prior to welding
- Maintain welding tools and equipment
- Follow all workplace safety procedures and PPE requirements
- Collaborate with production team members to meet deadlines
- High school diploma or equivalent (technical training preferred)
- Proven welding experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting
- Ability to read blueprints and use measuring tools accurately
- Knowledge of welding safety practices and OSHA standards
- Certification (e.g., AWS) is often preferred but not always required
- Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity
- Ability to stand for long periods
- Lift and move materials (often 25–50 lbs)
- Work in environments with heat, noise, and fumes (with proper PPE)
