Express Employment in Platteville has partnered with a local business to search for a candidate to support their business in a WELDER role located in Prairie Du Chein, WI. This is a full-time position.

We are seeking a skilled Welder to join our team. This role is responsible for fabricating, fitting, and welding metal components according to specifications and blueprints. The ideal candidate will have experience working with a variety of welding equipment and tools, strong attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and quality workmanship.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform welding and metal fabrication using hand-welding and flame-cutting equipment
• Fabricate, position, align, and fit structural metal components
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work orders to plan layout and assembly
• Position, align, and weld parts to form complete units or subunits
• Tack-weld and secure parts prior to final welding
• Operate fabricating machines such as brakes, rolls, shears, grinders, and drill presses
• Use measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, etc.) to ensure accuracy and proper fit
• Cut, contour, and bevel metal components according to specifications
• Set up and adjust welding equipment, including gas flow and pressure
• Clean and prepare metal surfaces prior to welding
• Grind, chip, and remove excess weld, slag, or imperfections
• Inspect finished workpieces to ensure they meet quality standards
• Monitor welding process to prevent warping, distortion, or overheating
• Move and position materials using cranes, hoists, or manual methods
• Identify and report equipment issues or material defects
• Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean work environment
